    Joey Votto or Ryan Howard?

Who would you rather have on your team in the playoffs and why?

No knock on Howard, but I just think Joey is the better overall player.

    He didn't ask long term.

Howard can be shut down by good LHP, hell even DRH and Bray I think can shut him down. Votto is a much tougher out.

Votto is the overall best player. Howard, while good, strikes out far too much for my liking.

Votto's overall the better player. He hit for more power (though howard was injuried some, haven't seen hr to ab ration). I'd also say he's much more clutch, 110% focus on every pitch.

Votto K's a lot less than Howard. Both hit for power, but there are times where contact is key.

In the interest of full disclosure, there is another guy at that position I would take a hard look at.....

Yep, there is that...he'll have the same playoff average I do in '10.

There isn't a first baseman in baseball I'd take over Votto. He has the total package you want from your star.

There are obviously players close, and arguably better (Pujols). At Votto's age, I take him over the rest though. Just my 0.02

Experience-wise, especially postseason experience, it's Howard. But this year ... right now ... it's Votto. Just look at the stats. If Votto isn't named NL MVP, he was robbed.

I'll take the Gold Glove, MVP 1st Baseman 100 out of 100 times.
