Great camera work by TBS on that second strike.
That hit was plenty fair. Atleast by a quarter of an inch.

    Bloop single to gomes. 1st & 3rd.

Gomes was standing where the coaches told him to. They were adjusting them all during that ab. Infielders too.
    2014 predictions:
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner
    Hamilton ROY & GG

I look forward to the day we don't have a left fielder that plays on the warning track.

Noticed that the other night. He plays deep. Must be by design.

Kind of helps offset the butcher's knife in his glove perhaps?

When you have no ability to go back on the ball....

Though with sluggers like Howard, they rarely flare them out to left. Probably a smart play.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I've never had my heart beat this loud/strong for a game I'm not even playing in or attending.
