It is pretty tricky post 9/11. The best place is from the concourse areas that you need a boarding pass to enter. They used to have a viewing area but I believe they closed it down for security reasons.

    Re: Question about CVG Airport

There is a viewing area outside of the airport, down Donaldson Highway, it was open the last time I was there, it's outside of the airport fence so it's not a security threat area

If you want to see them buzz overhead just try driving I-275 around CVG or park at Florence Mall...

I think Wright-Pat has a very good air museum. Why don't you do that instead?

Similar on the subject, I used to stay at a Hotel in Athens that was right next to the airport. There was a bar and pool on the roof and a lot of Brits would just sit up there with cameras and binoculars spotting planes and tail numbers. They would consult their log book and get excited when they add a new tail number to their list.

I was more interested in the topless girls around the pool.

    This.

The USAF Museum is AWESOME. They have some really cool stuff there, the Presidential exhibit is great, and it's also totally free.

Unless you like watching DHL cargo planes taking off, you had better get out there before the end of the month.

While they are not exactly shutting down the entire terminal system, aren't they about to 86 every Delta hub flight coming in and out of CVG?
