Re: Good start for Evan Turner

Here's a good article explaining how Meeks' hot hand has affected Evan Turner's first year in Philly.

Unless someone is being intentionally obtuse or trying to troll, not sure how they could confuse comparing and discussing a teammate who plays the same position who has relegated a top pick to the bench to bringing up a Center from the Western Conference. (Or a player, John Wall, that Turner guaranteed would be compared to him for his entire career after his boneheaded comments in pre-draft interviews.)

Cedric is just a little frustrated I'm guessing.

It is not the two points that people should worry about. It is the one assist and one rebound. Turner has got to start producing in those areas if he is going to stay on the court and get a chance to develop. Right now, Evan Turner's development does not seem to be priority one for the Sixers. Their priority is winning and Jodie Meeks is giving them the best chance to do that. Meeks has given the Sixers perhaps their most balanced starting five since the early 2000's. Everyone clearly knows their roles in this lineup and they are playing them well right now.
This part of the article I really agree with. Turner can still contribute to this team, but he's gotta start looking to do it in areas besides the scoring column.

You are just a typical arrogant Kentucky fan. Trying to bait people into arguments because you want to brag about "your boys".

    It's annoying and immature.

You have trolled and baited throughout this thread. It's obvious what you were trying to do with the Meeks comment and the other immature comments.

This. WMR, knock it off or you're getting a vacation from The Tavern.

All models are wrong. Some of them are useful.

    A) Jodie Meeks doesn't play the same position as Evan Turner. Iguodala does, therein lies Turner's PT obstacle. Meeks is a shooter, that takes 2/3 of his shots behind the 3pt line. His game is not comparable to Turner's, who lacks that shooting skill but is superior in every other BB skill category to Meeks.
    B) Cousins is not a center, although, it should be said, it is unknown what position he does play. He can't guard NBA 4s or 5s on defense. He's slow, he's weak and he's a dumb basketball player with no defensive intelligence. All he can do is foul people, which he does at a very impressive rate. A rate almost as high as his turnover rate. Yeah. Impressive player all right.
    C) John Wall is an impressive player. Very impressive. It is not fair to lump Turner, or Cousins in the same sentence as Wall.

This is not the only thread he does that in.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

If there wasn't obnoxious Kentucky fans, there wouldn't be any Kentucky fans at all.

That's only a joke, lest anybody get offended. I like reading WMR's stuff, even when he's completely and wrongly biased.

Not sure where WMR "trolled" but then again I'm a UK fan. He was just mentioning that Turner has struggled in the NBA, as most do... including Cousins. However, 12-8 with almost a block per game in 25 minutes is pretty impressive for a rookie. Low shooting percentage and fouls too much, sure... but that is common for rookies IMO.
