    Cowherd lands sitcom deal

One of the signs of the Apocalypse, no doubt.

    Re: Cowherd lands sitcom deal

The Cowherd script sold as a multi-camera comedy to CBS, with writers Bill Martin and Mike Schiff attached (Hank, Grounded For Life), as well as executive producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum (Two and a Half Men).
If the Tannenbaum's direct the show then it will more than likely be a hit. They have done great things with both Two and a Half Men as well as The Big Bang Theory.

It does sound similar to when the networks tried to make PTI a sitcom. IIRC it failed miserable to say the least.

Cowherd is skilled at the kind of sharp-edged, dry humor that Hollywood thinks is the key to attracting young audiences these days. I'm not too surprised by this.

I bet Jim Rome wishes he had thought to cash in on extending his brand like this a few years back.

Will the show allow Colin to have one opinion one episode, then the opposite opinion the next w/ no acknowledgement or reasoning why he changed his mind all while acting he's completely correct the whole time?

Cowherd and comedy go hand in hand. I laugh at him all the time.

Help stamp out, eliminate, and do away with redundancy.

The only way I would watch Cowherd on TV is some kind of grudge match where someone got to kick his butt on national TV. He is one guy I truly cannot stand. Actually, I would pay to see that on TV.

He's a perfect fit for CBS. That network caters to the lowest common denominator when it comes to it's original programming like no other.

This doesn't mean that this show will get made although having the Tannenbaum's attached will certainly help. The life story of Colin Cowherd sounds like gripping prime time drama if you ask me

I guess I am in the minority, I like Cowherd and think that this can't possibly be worse than anything else on TV.

I admit that I have taken his comments on Cincinnati sports personally and I think that shows laziness on his part. For example did you hear his rant last week about the sorry state of sports in Cincinnati? He called the Reds 'a wreck". Now OK, the Bengals, I get that, but the Reds have as good a chance as anyone to win the NL Central next year and look to be anything but a wreck.

Today he was interviewing Mark Sanchez of the Jets and he ended the interview by saying "we're rooting for you and good luck". Damn right. ESPN loves rooting for the large east coast markets because that feeds into their laziness. They don't want to be bothered following teams in flyover country. At least he was honest on that one
