Two guys that are really close for me. Went with Lotzkar, though I really don't see much of a difference between the two in terms of overall prospect value.

    LaMarre, easy.

A lot has to go right for Lotzkar, starting with health.

This was a tough one for me, too, but I went with LaMarre. I might've voted differently if I had seen Lotzkar had some success above rookie-ball. Even when he was in A-ball, he walked too many hitters. I'm sure that won't be as much of an issue in 2011, but I'm just going to use it as the tie-breaker for now.

If all goes well, Lotzkar is a TOR arm.

If all goes well, LaMarre is a solid everyday CF.

I'll go with the TOR arm.

It isn't even close for me in Lotzkar.

Serviceable OF talent is easily, cheaply and readily available in every Minor League system. You can get a LaMarre in almost every draft. A true TOR arm is hard to come by and harder to develop.

Plus RH bat, plus speed, plus OF defense, plus intangibles.

Not as easy to find as you may think.

I don't think for a second that LaMarre has a plus bat.

The word 'plus' is thrown around a lot by non-scouts. I'm guessing that he meant 'above-average'.

Lotzkar has had what 2 different set backs with his injury? Love the kids potential ability but in my mind he's almost an afterthought at the moment. I just don't want to get my hopes up. Kind of like Daryl Thompson there for awhile except Thompson wasn't also so far away from contributing when healthy. Not writing Lotzkar off completely but for now he's not in my top 20 LaMarre is.

    +1.

I think he is very much a Chris Heisey clone.

Just gets more respect and hype because of the higher draft status and Mid-Major Baseball program pedigree...

I think he will be a ML player at some point, don't get me wrong but...

    Prospect A - .351/.453/.805
    Prospect B - .361/.398/.758

    Prospect B is LaMarre's 2010 in Dayton.

Prospect A is Fellhauer 2009 in Dayton.

We all know how Fellhauer's 2010 ended up. To me LaMarre plays to unimportant of a position to be ranked so high.

I went with Lotzkar. He's still quite young and has been dominant when healthy. 33 strikeouts to 2 walks is impressive in any league.

LaMarre looks like Sappelt pre-2010. Where was Sappelt last year?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

    Center is an 'unimportant' position?

I don't think in terms of the Reds needs that CF is imprtant. They have 5 more years of Stubbs and even if they don't, Yorman is likely to jump over LaMarre in pecking order in 2 more seasons. I see LaMarre more as a UT OFer than I do a full time starter. To me that isn't worth more than a potential #2 or #3 starter.
