    Your 2011 Rotation

The Rules... You cannot add anyone not currently under Reds control. No Grienke, No Garza, No Cliff Lee. project the OD order and throw in any stats you want. Here is how I see it:

    1. Arroyo 18W's sub 3.80 ERA
    2. Cueto 165Ks, 200 IP
    3. Volquez 200K's BB's in bunches 4.50+ERA
    4. Wood 170K's 190+IP
    5. Chapman 140K's 115 IP, replaced by Bailey/Leake to limit innings

At least that's what I'd like to see. More than likely barring some amazing performance, 1-4 might be right with #5 being Homer.

    1. Bronson Arroyo 21 W's, 3.50 earnie, 3 CG's
    2. Johnny Cueto 17 W's, 3.80 era, 150+ K's, flirts with no hitter
    3. Edinson Volquez 7 W's, re-aggravates some injury, shut down mid-season
    4. Homer Bailey 16 W's, 3.70 era, 170+ K's
    5. Travis Wood 12 W's, 4.10 era, 100 K's
    6. Mike Leake, 13 W's, 3.80 era...replaces Volkie mid-season, first half of season Mike's in L'ville getting regular work.

Chapman stays in the bullpen all season long as Arthur Rhodes is not re-signed. Mid-season he starts closing the occasional game, as does Masset. Closer by committee begins to develop. Cordero still shows flashes of brilliance but is also showing signs of major fatigue.

Maloney, LeCure, Thompson, etc...all stay on the farm. 2 of the projected L'ville starters are dealt prior to opening day.

Oh, and btw...we repeat as NLCD champs and take one more step forward in the playoffs. Don't think we seal the deal this year yet though.

    1. Arroyo
    2. Cueto
    3. Wood
    4. Bailey
    5. Chapman

Volquez is traded away for a real LF. Leake is a long man out of the pen - not mop up, but a guy who can finish up the 6th and get you to the closer twice a week.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

2011 predictions Since so many guys could end up in different roles, here is the prediction for the entire staff. Depth is pretty good all around.

    1. Arroyo - opening day starter with the shiny new extension unless he objects due to the fanfare. 220 IP with a 4.20ish ERA, 16-11.
    2. Cueto 4.10 ERA 13-9 185 IP
    3. Volquez 5.45 ERA, 6-13 160 IP
    4. Wood 4.35 ERA 12-12 200 IP
    5. Bailey 3.65 ERA, 14-6, 210 IP, 195K

Leake, Maloney, Lehr, Klinker, Avery and Reinicke in AAA rotation with Avery and/or Klinker bouncing down to AA when everybody is healthy.

Chapman and Lecure in pen with Cordero, Masset, Bray, Ondrusek and Arredondo. Rhodes signs elsewhere. Willis released in Spring Training. Fisher, Herrera, Valiquette and Burton setting up in AAA with Jordan Smth the AAA closer. Horst lost in Rule 5.

All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Starting staff sounds realistic as of now.

    Re: Your 2011 Rotation

If it goes to spring unchanged, I think the rotation will end up being:

    Cueto
    Arroyo
    Volquez
    Wood
    Bailey

Leake to AAA, Chapman and Lecure to pen.

    Re: Your 2011 Rotation

I really like the Reds starters.

    1. Arroyo 200+ IP with an ERA ~4.00
    2. Cueto 200 IP with an ERA ~3.50
    3. Wood 200 IP with an ERA ~3.50
    4. Bailey 175 IP with an ERA ~4.25
    5. Volquez has to pitch well in the spring to get this last spot. I'd actually like to deal him for a SS or a left fielder. I honestly don't know what to expect from Volquez. I'd like to see Leake as the #5 starter. If he was I'd expect 160-170 IP with an ERA ~4.25.

I expect Chapman to be in the pen in 2011. Heck. I'd make him co-closer with Cordero. The rest of the pen is Masset, Ondrusek, Bray, and filled out by guys like Lecure, Burton, Arrendondo, Maybe Willis as a loogy.

Poor Matt Maloney is AAA depth.

    Volquez
    Arroyo
    Cueto
    Wood
    Leake

Chapman to AAA, Bailey dealt for an upgrade elsewhere.

Leake in Triple A for the beginning of the season. Chapman an innings eater out of the pen.

    Re: Your 2011 Rotation

    Johnny Cueto
    Bronson Arroyo
    Edinson Volquez
    Travis Wood
    Aroldis Chapman/Homer Bailey

Chapman will split time between the bullpen and rotation to keep his innings down. Leake will also get some starts.

    Volquez: 185 IP, 3.45 ERA, 210 K's

    Wood: 185 IP, 3.65 ERA, 150 K's

    Chapman posts a K/9 around 11.
