Seriously? This show isn't on PBS. It's on a nationally broadcasted cable channel that runs commercials. The entire premise of it is to make money.

And so what? Is it good or not, because that is all that matters.
I am completely OK with making money, but when it is at the expense of quality, I have an issue. I have been watching SoA since day one, and over the years they have increased the length of their episodes while barely increasing the length of the actual content. They have these "special hour and a half episodes" which increases the time by 30 minutes while adding like 5 minutes of content. It has really hurt the show in my opinion, around the time they started doing it is when the quality of the show started to go down. If the show is doing well enough increase the price for the available ad spots. That is how shows have always done it. What SoA is doing is making it annoying to watch the actual show.

I never saw Breaking Bad do anything like that, and that show will go down as one of the best ever.

The ad I saw is calling it a 90 minute premiere event, so looks like that is more in the ball park.

Yeah, I think my wife misunderstood and thought the 1 hour special after was part of the show.

It was so good. Discussion online makes it sound like the show was polarizing, but I really, really enjoyed it.

That was about 90 minutes of set up for SOA last night. I'm sure the season will be good, but the premiere was just ok.

When did the CW start to have better programing than most of the regular network TV stations? The Flash looks like it's going to be a very good show and Arrow continues to be great.

When they had to try and get series that were a little different from your typical "cookie cutter" shows to bring in a different kind of audience from Fox/CBS/ABC/NBC.

The networks, in large part, bailed on actual creative content from writers and actors in favor of cheap programming focused on "reality TV." Most of the best shows these days are found on the CW or FX or AMC and places like HBO & Showtime.

I'd recommend Sundance Channel shows as well.

Watched Walking Dead S5 Premier and for the most part I enjoyed it. WD is at its best when they are on the move. Wished the Terminus then and now segments would have been longer.

SOA had his first poor episode of S7. Way too late to be introducing new plots Mr.Sutter.

This whole season has been ridiculous. It is pretty obvious Sutter does not know how to finish it and the result is going to be everyone dying.

That's how I assumed it would end for a few years now.

Kinda enjoying this season of Homeland so far. As a huge Quinn fan, I got a bad feeling about how this season could end...

I haven't liked most of the new network stuff so far with a couple exceptions.

    Gotham is pretty good.
I thought the Marry Me pilot was hilarious.
    Blackish isn't bad.
How to Get Away with Muruder is easily the best new show.

I really wanted to like Mulaney, but it has been pretty bad so far.
