    Reds to ink Hermida

According to Mark Sheldon, the Cincinnati Reds are close to signing former first round pick, outfielder Jeremy Hermida to a minor league deal.

    Heck yes.

Frazier, Sappelt, Dorn, Barton, and Hermida? Those are some nice AAA outfield options to say the least. The Bats could be a amazing team again this year.

This could end up being great news for the Mudcats this year. It might push one of the Bats' outfielders down, helping Carolina field a better team.

I don't see any of the Bats outfielders I mentioned before going down to AAA.

Sappelt and Barton would be the closest I would think. No way Frazier, Dorn or Hermida would. Though I think seeing one of those guys at the major league level from the start is an almost certainty.

I wish Sean Henry could catch a break, I'm sure that ship has sailed unfortunately.

I was thinking more along the lines of Dave Cook, who played in the Texas League last year and has a career .893 OPS in AA.
