According to Mark Sheldon, the Cincinnati Reds are close to signing outfielder Jeremy Hermida to a minor league contract. The Georgia native was the eleventh overall pick by the Marlins in 2002. The left-handed outfielder split time between the Boston Red Sox and Oakland Athletics during the 2010 season.
