You make a good point about voting for the people you suggest. At the same time, one can recognize a worthy candidate without selecting him over other worthy candidates. That said, I have voted for Jeremy Horst, although currently I'm with Barnhart. I've also seen indications that Josh Ravin might have some support. And Blaine Howell has been identified in another thread as a prospect to watch.

Reducing the candidate pool has made it interesting, but I'd recommend that those three be added next time: Horst, Ravin and Howell. Meanwhile, I recognize that an equally good case can be made for any number of others.

I totally agree with you, but it's just very difficult to know where to draw the line. Here's probably what I'll end up doing:
On the next poll, I'll list about 25 options. If a player receives zero votes, I'll replace him with some of the other names I mentioned on the following poll. I'll just keep cycling out the players who aren't getting votes until I find someone who gets a vote.

I went with Felix Perez. He is safe and I think he has some upside as well. He hit very well all season outside of the two weeks after he came back from an oblique strain (mid August in AA). I like the tools package as well. Took him ever so slightly over Corcino.

I'd like to see Fellhauer added to the list. He was my cocandidate to break out last year. Did not work out.

That sounds like a good plan to me--maybe with one variation. Seems that if you suddenly go to 25, there will be a whole lot of guys who don't get votes. But if you take it up incrementally, a no-votes result might be more telling. You could add, say, five next time, then delete the ones who don't receive votes and add another three to five the following time, or whatever. Rinse and repeat.

I like it. The next poll will have 15 names.

Went with Fleury. LHH Catcher who showed good potential at the plate. Second half was much better than his first half which showed ability to make adjustments.

Re: Who is Redszone's #30 prospect?

Felix Perez struggled mightily in AA ball at age 25. I'm not sure he should even be considered a prospect. I'm not sure I get his upside. I know this was his first year in the states, but he shouldn't he be a bit further along in his development?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Having seen him play a couple times, he fits the profile of a kind of player I'm leery of: little guys with long swings.

Same here..... to have seen him is to come away unimpressed. No power, not very good defensively.

Fleury. A young catcher who's improving. Can't have too much catching, imho.
