after queing up Felix Perez for the last 10+ picks, I'm not sure who to vote for anymore, so I'll go w/ Jake Johnson, then probably the 2 catchers if they still remain.

I'm leaning toward Kyle Waldrop here. If people were willing to vote for Drew Cisco a few picks ago, I don't see why Waldrop should be far behind.

I'd like to see Humberto Valor added back to the poll.

I would like to see Jeremy Horst listed. Since he wasn't, I voted to Tucker Barnhart.

    Fleury.

I Like a lefty hitting catcher who has some skills on offense and defense.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

I think Fleury and then Barnhart or Silva for me.

Does the side of the plate he hits from really matter?

I don't know what his exact rationale was, but I remember that Earl Weaver always wanted a lefty-hitting catcher on his Oriole teams.

Sure it does. Like most LHH he hits RHP better.

Since most pitching in the Majors is RH...

I think some of McCann's success is tied to the fact he is LH and crushes RH pitching. Not that I am comparing the 2.

At the same time, most right handed hitters DON'T have major platoon splits like left handed hitters do.

Just curious as to why it matters in this instance? Fluery has more power than Barnhart which is the biggest difference in the 2 as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Who is Redszone's #33 prospect?

Agreed. The power potential gives him the edge in my book.

fwiw, someone complained last year about Fleury getting votes based on his college performance (I'm fairly sure it was Fleury), saying he hadn't done enough professionally to be considered that high(however high it was). I responded that he wasn't far enough out of college yet for his performance at UNC to be discarded.

Last year he made strides, showing that he does have pro potential. And again, I like his power.
