One stop saber shop: Fangraphs Sabermetrics Library

There have been calls for a sabermetrics faq on redszone for a while so this may be of interest to ORG members.

Fangraphs is maintaining a sabermetrics library at http://www.fangraphs.com/library/index.php/.

It's not an exhaustive source but its very accessible and covers a wide range of topics that often are debated during discussions about Reds related topics.

It's a great place to start if you're interested in reading up on some of the newer metrics or need clarification about a particular stat etc.
"This isnít stats vs scouts - this is stats and scouts working together, building an organization that blends the best of both worlds. This is the blueprint for how a baseball organization should be run. And, whether the baseball men of the 20th century like it or not, this is where baseball is going."---Dave Cameron, U.S.S. Mariner

Agreed -- it's a very good resource and written in plain English for the most part. I strongly recommend it.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
