Jeremy Horst. Solid stuff, excellent control, very good numbers and he is close to the majors. What is not to like?

Agreed. Except Barnhart is still on the board.

I went with Fairel again but can someone give me a run down on Waldrop. I saw he was up on the BA list. Also can Fellhauer get on the list for consideration.

I really like the 2 HR's in 72 innings, and the better than 4 to 1 K to W ratio. He's next for me; I just like Fairel a little bit better, based on his being two years younger and still potentially a starter. Both, IMO, deserve to be higher on the list than where they'll be here.

Humberto Valor again for me. Below is a brief scouting report on Valor via Jorge Arangure:

Scout on Humberto Valor: "best position player prospect in VZ." Athletic, advanced approach at plate, hard contact line drive stroke.

Yeah, I think you may have swayed my vote to Valor. I've always liked him anyway, so it wasn't too difficult of a task.

I went Barnhart. I think a good projection for him at the plate is Thole.

What amazes me is the lack of love that Hotchkiss is getting. He hasn't got one vote yet (current poll) and may not even make the Top 40. 7 years ago he'd been in the Top 10 -15. Amazing how much times have changed.

Went with Blaine Howell, LHP. After what his coach said about him, I couldn't resist. Hard-throwing, amazing kid. His coach said he would be in the majors one day!!!

Howell seems like a solid choice. The thing is, there are so many relievers who could be legitimately picked at this point. There's still a good chance that Hotchkiss will end up in relief. Then we've got Howell, Horst, Mace Thurman, Chase Ware (very underrated, I believe), Justin Freeman, Joe Krebs and El'Hajj Muhammad. Might even include Jerry Gil (invited to spring training), Nathan Driessen, Tyler Cline, Jose Amezcua and, although it's admittedly a stretch, perhaps a couple really young guys who haven't yet pitched in the States, Carlos Ramos and Eury Cantalizo.

Talk about lack of love. Scott Carroll just got a ST invite and we haven't even mentioned him yet, at least as far as I've seen.

I mentioned him a few threads back as a guy I wouldn't mind seeing on the ballot. Scott Carroll is actually my #33 prospect.

I also mentioned him as a ballot possibility (this is no criticism of the ballot constructors, for whose work I am very grateful). But he'd be in my top 30, as would Fairel and Horst.

Re: Who is Redszone's #35 prospect?

Klinker is really an enigma. He falls into near obscurity in our poll due to a very lukewarm showing in 2010 at the AAA level but the Reds invite him to big league camp. His 2009 really impressed me but he just wasn't the same pitcher last season.
