My list includes any "message" songs, like "Janie's Got a Gun," "Jeremy," "Runaway Train" by Soul Asylum, "Gangsta's Paradise" by Coolio, "Luka," "We Are the World," and "From a Distance."

Also, anything Huey Lewis ever touched.

WOY and I saw her come out and sing this with Tom a couple of years ago. Really good.

    I like Stevie myself.

All of those are pretty bad and "Jeremy" still gets airplay as if it were just released.

I can't believe songs like "Fireflies" by Owl City (short time when it was on all the time, but now pretty infrequently played) and "Lisztomania" by Phoenix, which I like, are on the list (realizing it's opinion), but no mention of the most overplayed song of all time, "Like a Rock" by Bob Seger. Seriously, it seemed like for 20 years straight you couldn't watch a sporting event on TV without seeing multiple Chevy Truck ads featuring that song.

Burn down the disco. Hang the blessed DJ. Because the music that he constantly plays, it says nothing to me about my life.

On my list, Lynyrd Skynyrd, any song, would top it off. Also, that Cher song that brought about the age of Autotune its robotic sounding progeny.

I would throw Freeze Frame in here by J. Geils. Granted, that one has pretty much gone by the way side but what a crap song from a band that was, at one time, so awesome.

its newer but i would add "use somebody" by Kings of Leon to that list.
During my 18 years I came to bat almost 10,000 times. I struck out about 1,700 times and walked maybe 1,800 times. You figure a ballplayer will average about 500 at bats a season. That means I played seven years without ever hitting the ball. ~Mickey Mantle, 1970

Hotel California needs to go away as well.

Every Eagles song needs to go away, except for In the City.

I love In The City....both the version at the end of The Warriors and the one on The Long Run.

There are two types of people in this world: Those who like Neil Diamond, and those who don't. My ex-wife loves him.---Bill Murray (Bob Wiley)from the movie "What about Bob?"
