    RIP Brian Jacques

Growing up in the late-80s / early-90s, the "Redwall" series was *my* Harry Potter. I used to get so excited when a new volume of the series would appear on bookshelves at the store and would beg my mother to buy it for me (usually promising to do all kinds of extra chores that I'd rarely follow through on once I started reading). Maybe someday, someone will acqurie the film rights and do a proper movie about the first couple books in the series.

    RIP to Mr. Jacques.

He first wrote the series, set in an abbey populated by animals, for children at the Royal Wavertree School for the Blind in Liverpool.

I'm sorry to see this. My son was a huge Redwall fan and has all his books and loved them. I forwarded this new on to him.

The chinchilla that Zach had for about 15 years was named "Martin" after Martin the Warrior. Great character.
