    Rays DFA Leslie Anderson

I thought this was a curious move. Did anyone get to watch him last year? What sort of scouting reports developed on him. He doesn't exactly fit a need for the Reds system unless as an OF. Did he get much time there this past year or is he strictly a 1b.

This is what was said about Anderson. This looks like this would be a great waiver pickup. What does anyone think about picking him up?

The Rays officially signed Anderson, a Cuban defector, to a four-year, $1.725MM contract in April. At the time, Rays director of international operations Carlos Alfonso said the 28-year-old was appealing “because of his athleticism, and the fact that he can play all three outfield positions, as well as first base.”

Rays are looking for bodies in the pen, the Reds need LH bat candidates. I'd absolutely take a fkyer and Danny Rae might get it done.

I'd love to add another lefty bat. Probably knows Aroldis too. Just the kind of guy I'd offer some of our "spare parts" for. I'm guessing he's being DFA'd for a roster space, but does he have any options left if we have to send him to L'Ville til needed?

Could be a fair swap, if not Carlos Fisher seems like a great fit.

I really don't get this. High expectations plus good numbers on an accelerated trip through the minors equals DFA after one year?
