    2011 Reds Spring Training pictures

Well, we're officially two days away from Reds pitchers and catchers reporting but some guys are already there and there are pics to prove it. This is always one of my favorite times of the year when the first pics from Spring Training start to roll in. As we've done the last couple seasons, post ST pics in this thread.

Here are a few from Mark Sheldon and Jamie Ramsey.

Hello from Goodyear, AZ. Lehr, Leake, Bray, Willis throwing in 'pen for Reds.

Reds uber-prospect Billy Hamilton stretching this morning at the #Reds Spring Training Complex in Goodyear, AZ

Dontrelle Willis arrived early at the Reds' spring training complex in Goodyear, Arizona.

Is anyone else having problems viewing the Billy Hamilton and Dontrelle Willis pictures from OBM's original post?

Yeah, those bottom two pics in my first post are no longer working for me. They were twit pics and those usually don't work.

    More from Jamie Ramsey:

    Chris Valaika

    Mike Leake

    Devin Mesoraco

Hard to tell from the pic. but Dontrelle does look a little slimmer this year.

    Love the pictures.

An annual sign of spring, baseball players taking a knee. No where else on the face of the earth do grown men take a knee like spring training. Every year the same pictures. Gotta love it.
Hugs, smiling, and interactive Twitter accounts, don't mean winning baseball. Until this community understands that we are cursed to relive the madness.

    A few observations.

Juan Duran is a big dude. He's still very young (only 19) and started to show signs of putting it together last year in Billings. He's still one to watch.

Carlos Fisher looks like Mariano Rivera.

    Billy Hamilton just looks fast.

I thought the same thing. And Mesoraco looks like a linebacker! So much for him being "soft".
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Dontrelle is going to make the team and be a big part of the bullpen. Mark it down.

It doesn't look like the boys spent any time laying on the beach over the winter. Man, those are some pasty white legs showing up in the shorts. Maloney was apparently on his way to the shuffleboard tournament after the workout with the black sox and tennis shoes.
