    3/1/11- Reds (SS) @ A's (ST)

    Stubbs 8
    Renteria 6
    Gomes 7
    Rolen 5
    Bruce 9
    Alonso 3
    Cairo 0
    Valaika 4
    Miller 2

    Leake 1

This one won't be anywhere locally except Gameday (unless maybe its on one of the mlb.com audio things or whatever). No pbp from me, as I'll be just checking up periodically while watching the other game on TV.

Reds down 1-0 in the bottom of the third. Gonzalez struck out 5 Reds in his two innings of work without walking anyone or giving up a hit.

Leake went 1-2-3 in his first inning of work, but then gave up a run in the bottom of the 2nd due to a couple of hits and a walk.

Reds still do not have a base runner through the 3rd inning as Brett Anderson goes 1-2-3 with Cairo-Valaika-Corky.

Jordan Smith in to pitch the third. He gives up a hit to Daric Barton but it does no harm as he gets the other three guys out.

A lot of first pitch swingers in these early games as Smith only throws a total of 4 pitches to the 4 guys he faces.

Reds decide to get to work against LHP Brett Anderson in the top of the fourth.

Stubbs out looking at strikes, followed up by a Renteria double, Gomes aforementioned bomb, Rolen popped up to first, Bruce lined a single to center, Yonder knocked a homer, and the Cairo continued the hit parade with a single, followed by a Valaika single.
