Nickelodeon making new episodes of classic 90's cartoons

Hope this is true. I used to watch Doug, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, etc. with my kids all the time.

Stuff from the 90s is old enough to be considered "classic"?

I would love to see Rocko's Modern Life.

I don't know how well this will go. Didn't they try this with Rugrats a while back? Nickelodeon used to be known for its new programming, but somewhere along the line got bogged down with Spongebob, Jimmy Neutron, Fairly Oddparents and Danny Phantom. While Spongebob is pretty good, it's kind of hard to keep interest showing it all hours of the day.

My kids usually prefer Cartoon Network for new cartoons coming out and Disney for Phineas and Ferb, Wizards of Waverly Place, Suite Life on Deck, etc. About the only show they watch on Nick is iCarly.

Now if they really wanted to go retro, they should bring back shows like You Can't Do That on Television.

They did an All Grown Up version where they were teens. It was pretty crappy. Rugrats rocked.

They'll inevitably screw this up, but it gives a valuable opportunity to remember what an amazingly awesome show "Doug" was.

So much goodness in that show, it's really hard to put it into words -- so I'll let a T-Shirt do all my talking for me:

I got hooked on that show raising my kids, but Johnny Bravo was my favorite.

If they're '90's cartoons, how are they "classic"?

Something that debuted in 1990 means it debuted over 20 years ago. We are old. That's how. :
