Harang gets another opening day start

Aaron Harang is pitching tonights Padres home opener against the Giants. Is it safe to give him the nickname, Mr. Opening Day???

I see a CG shutout with at least 10 k's tonight for Mr. Harang.

I think a park like PETCO is a good place for Harang. Hope he does well.

Harangatang should do fine in Petco park and the other parks in the west division most are pitchers parks.

I understand that he's a fly ball pitcher, and in the west that's a good thing. I just don't think he has anything left in the tank. He looked helpless on the mound his last 2 years. His low 90's fastball and an inconsistent slider are nothing to be excited about. He won't give up as many homers out there but I still think he gets hit consistently.

Wishing him well but I don't think he's got it anymore. His slider isn't falling off the table like it once did, and his fastball is (and usually has been) pretty lackluster.

Good luck to him in SD though...

    One inning, one run.
    Scoreless second.
Works out of a jam in the third. No runs.

He was my favorite player on this team for a while, I'm hoping PETCO will make a good home for him. He had some good numbers, hopefully he can keep it up.

The Reds organization paid Aaron over 10 million per year and he responded by losing 30 games in two seasons. When he was signed by San Diego, he blamed the Reds for messing up his mechanics by forcing him to make a relief appeance. Real class. If Harang had just been a .500 pitcher this team would have been competitive in 2008-2009. I'd just as soon forget about the guy.
