    04/07/11 Minor League Game Thread

Daryl Thompson is starting for the Mudctas tonight against the Mobile Bay Bears at Five County Stadium. After last year I am very interested in seeing how well Thompson does.

Josh Smith is starting for Dayton at 7:00.
Pedro Villarreal is on the mound for Bakersfield at 10:00pm (EST).

Weather looks like baseball may not happen in Dayton or Louisville tonight....

Very. I was going to go to one or the other, but now it looks like neither. Both places are supposed to start seeing rain around 6pm. That means there is a chance Louisville could get underway with a 6:35 start time, but it is supposed to storm all night there.

Where did you hear that? Weather.com shows a 30% chance of "Few Showers" in Louisville from 6 - 9, the bad weather will be after midnight from what I heard... I can't imagine a cancellation from that...

It must have changed since I checked at 2am last night. I hope you are right.

Still, while the % isn't high, the hour by hour forecast is showing rain at 7pm through the night at weather.com right now.

Well, it does not sound very strong or non-scattered during the game time, so I am not too worried.

It's only a 20% chance of rain in Louisville until well after game time.

Wind should be blowing out to left.

    From Jamie Ramsey:

#Reds minor league transactions: Carlson, Carson, Kaskow and Walker placed on restricted list (failure to report)...

....Denove, Fairel, Lehr, Lutz, Valiquette and Wideman placed on DL

LHP from Okie State right, if so I liked him also.

The spouse and I are headed out in a bit to check out the 2011 version of the Mudcats. The sun is shining and evening should'nt be too chilly. I am beyond excited to see these guys back on he field at last.
Well wishes to Scott Carroll in Louisville tonight.

So is this basically the minor league way to retire?
