Anyone know of a good minor league app for the iPhone? I've been searching and can't find one. One with just some box scores of games would be awesome.

Game looked similar to last years quality, which IMO is just fine. It isn't widescreen. It filled the monitor on my laptop, but on my desktop I have a widescreen monitor and it was showing black side bars.

BTW, Kris Negron is apparently going by Kristopher Negron now.

He was always introduced as Kristopher Negron here. Must be his preference.

Odd, every other team looks so much improved. Filling a laptop was what I meant by "widescreen", sorry.

Yonder should have got to a ball that would have ended the damage in the Mud Hen's big inning but he just didn't get there in time.
In Sweet's postgame interview he mentioned there were a couple balls in the late innings that "didn't get caught." I assume one was Alonso's. Despite his bat, if he's a liability in LF, he won't be manning that spot in Cincy, IMO. But I give the guy a lot of credit for pushing himself to learn the position.

Where in the world did you find a Rick Sweet post game interview???? I don't remember Alonso's play that well, I assume he was talking about a foul popup dorn dropped, and a running catch Jeremy Hermida did not make.

Come on.... the Reds are playing Jonny Gomes out in left right now. He is a liability and he doesn't have a great bat. Whether Alonso ever cuts it in left, I don't know, but because some is a liability out there doesn't mean he won't play there.

I guess it comes down to whether Alonso can be even as good as Gomes out there. I haven't seen Alonso play LF, so I can' say with any certainty. But I do feel certain that Gomes can cover more ground than Alonso, and Gomes has an OK arm.

If he's worse than Gomes, I don't see him getting the spot over guys like Heisey and Sappelt, come 2012, or even later in 2011, if Gomes tanks at the plate. I don't think the Reds management would do that to their pitchers.

Again, I can not remember the Alonso misplay that everyone is talking about. Dorn and Hermida both made bad plays in the 7 run inning - are you sure you are not thinking of either of those? I do remeber Alonso making a nice diving catch early in the game. You can see that and other highlights here: http://www.fox41.com/category/163829...partnerclipid=

Not sure in any way. I was just going on what GOYA said. I didn't see the game.

    Thanks for the link.

That was a great catch by Alonso. Todd Frazier also made a nice barehanded play at 3B.

As for Mesoraco's HR - Wow! That ball was crushed. Did you see the left fielder's reaction? He didn't even move.

From the DDN - This may explain why Yorman didn't show up early to Spring Training...

“We were a little concerned about Yorman,” DeShields said. “Something’s going on back home (in Venezuela). But he seems to be doing a lot better.”
