So when is Bruce going to start hitting?

It's the elephant in the room I feel like. He's off to another really slow start and in general just having awful at-bats. This was supposed to be the year.

I guess I don't have direct criticism for Jay Bruce. I just wish he had to watch a season of himself at the plate. It's a roller coaster of frustration, ups and downs, and confusion.

I'm not implicating that we send him to Louisville. I'm just saying that it would just be nice if he got off to a decent start. He's quietly salting away like 10% of his season here without production.

I don't know, maybe I'm crazy for being frustrated. But I just don't get the peaks and valleys with a guy with his talent.

I resent that statement.

I've had some poor posts like anyone else but this is not trolling. It's talking baseball.

Even King Albert exhibits a poor approach with holes in his swing when in a slump.

No. Just no. I couldn't wait for someone to bring Pujols into this.

Jay Bruce's track record is one thing, Albert Pujols is another. Bruce has never done what Pujols has done to suggest that nothing can really be said when he's struggling because he'll inevitably get it together. Virtually, the two have no similarities. Possible top 10 player of all time and future sure fire Hall of Famer vs. 24 year old still trying to find his way.

FYI here's what the OP said about another Reds player last year. I'm sensing a trend.

Maybe he should not have started a thread but how about giving the poster a break about calling him a troll.......even if we do not agree with his starting a thread on this beacuse of such a small time frame in the season does not mean he is not bringing up good points about his approach....the approach Bruce has at this time and how he looks.

Well he likes to stir the pot on Bruce for sure. I got frustrated with him on friday myself....but I know it's early.

The OP is 9 days ahead of last year's pace. At that rate, he should be changing his name in about a month or so.

Alright, but wait a second. It hasn't just been 7 games. This is going on four seasons now we're waiting to see a finished product.

Except for the last few weeks of last season and the first few weeks of his career he's been lukewarm to say the least.

I don't know. I guess I just wonder when the light is truly going to go on. Or am I worrying about nothing here? I look around the league and other power hitters are doing their thing. He just doesn't produce runs like a middle of the order guy should, and little things show I'm not the only one who notices.

Dusty consistently hits him 6th, even against RHP and is reluctant to ever put him anywhere higher than 5th on the occasional night here and there.
