    Area between GABP and PBS

I was wondering if anyone might be able to give an update on what is happening with the area between the two stadiums. On our last visit over in June of last year construction was going on but there was still parking available between the two for Reds games. We are now looking for our next return trip to be for the May 14th Sparky game and wondered how that area is, if anything is open yet to checkout pre game and what if any parking is left? Also, anyone know the status of the "to be" casino that is being built in the "secondary" location where some wanted the New Reds park built.

"The Banks" project has taken over that area.

Retail and apartments are being built. Toby Keith has a restaurant going in there.

They have cleared the area by the Greyhound Bus Station for the new casino. It is on the north end of downtown by I-71.

the banks were just beginning to be build last time we were over, and they had removed some of the parking inbetween the stadiums. I know long term plans is for all parking to be gone in that area, just wondering if it was still available at this point. Also from the banks web site it looks like a place called the Holy Grail Bar and Grill is open, just wondered if anyone had been down there yet....

I was outside the Holy Grail Bar and some guy with a french accent appeared on the rooftop and hurled rude insults at me, like "I fart in your general direction". I decided to go elsewhere. :

That's where I always park and I had wondered the same thing. Went down for the game last Thursday and parking was still available there. The price had increased to $12.00.

Why did they wait so long to do all this stuff? These stadiums have been open for several years now. This type of development should have been in place to coincide with the opening of GABP/PBS. They really missed a big opportunity.

Of course, being that I don't live in Cincinnati, and don't keep up with affairs there that don't involve the local sports teams, I'm sure there are numerous reasons.

There's actually more parking in that area than there was last year. The re-routing of Mehring Way took up a lot of space in those lots last year. Now that's complete and those lots are back. Slightly less capacity than there was before the construction I believe, but more than last year.
