Interesting stuff happened in tonight's game.

First off, DT threw out a runner from behind home plate to get the runner going to second. It was a cannon shot. He said he didn't know he could do that.

DT was also removed after getting hit in the finger by a come-backer. He's fine.

That ump got really rattled. Horrible strike zone. Both managers gave him stuff about it. It clearly got to him. He threw out Tennessee's manager after making a horrible strike 3 call to end a Tennessee inning.

Lewis and Arredondo will play Tuesday. Justin Lehr will start for Carolina.

Oh. Another gaff. At one point Tennessee had 10 men on the field. Everyone was yelling for a 15-yard penalty.

Pedro Villarreal has been having an extremely nice start to the season for Bakersfield. Offhand, I'd say the best starters in the system so far have been Villarreal, Josh Smith and Josh Ravin.

Oh, and Dontrelle Willis, of course.

Another walk for Yasmani Grandal. That's seven walks in his last four games.

My stat of the night: Billy Hamilton has 14 steals. There are 15 teams in the Midwest League other than the Dragons. 2 of them have more than 14 steals this season.

I was at the Dragons game last night and Hamilton's speed is amazing. At one point he got caught in kind of rundown. He was on 3rd and on a grounder back to the pitcher he got about half way down the line and kind of froze for a second. Then he just took off and beat the throw home. 99% of all runners would have been caught in a rundown and easilty out but he beat a throw home from the pitcher.

If only he could brush up on his fielding... can't have the errors that he's had this season.
