    Baby Bears throwing a world series?

    haven't seen this posted, its an AP story in the DDN:

    It's possible, the game was in an odd state following the fight or work order made by Wilson. There was wide belief that the 1919 would not be played. If so then you can bet that the idea was floated.

    The era was awash in graft, even on the Reds, which dealt with Chase and the only time a manager (Mathewson) accused a player in print of selling out the team.

    I'm serious when I say that the mear thought of the Cubs makes me feel a little beter whenever the Reds get into a rutt so this comment is just what I needed.Thanks for the pick me up.

    Did the Cubs wear black sox in 1918?

    I've been to dinner at Jimmy Buffet's house, and I've eaten it at a homeless shelter. And there's great joy and harrowing terror to be found in both places.
