Reds can accomodate all of them with Rolen out if Hermida and Valaika sent down. But when Rolen comes back, there's an extra bench guy.

Pitching wise, Reds need three spots for Bailey, Cueto and Arredondo. Fisher and Smith go down.

That leaves one more pitcher to go down. Lecure?
Yea, I forgot they switched out Maloney with Fisher, I send down Lecure. He's serviceable in his role, but depth is going to put him back in AAA, which is a good thing, since Lecure once would have been a TOR hopeful

I think you will probably see Lecure put into the long man role and Leake or Wood sent down to AAA, with their next start or two playing a big role in who it is. Its better to keep one of them going as a starter then to push them into the long man role. If I were to guess, if all things appear equal, Leake will get the nod to stay up to keep that never in the minors tag.

I don't think Leake would stay up for that reason. He has been performing, really only one bad start out of five. I'm not a big fan, but he has been performing and deserves to stay. He was daggone good against the Brewers the other night. I have a hard time seeing this management team caring about "never in minors." It isn't like its marketable. Now some previous regimes, they loved that kind of trivia for their players.

I'd rather have the better pitcher on the MLB roster, and that clearly is Leake or Wood over LeCure.

Regarding the 40-man roster, I'm sure Valiquette would go on the 60-day DL.

There is going to be a lot of roster turnover between now and the end of the 1st week of May to say the least. Hopefully this leads to a 18-11 may like they had last year. Hard to imagine they were 15-15 on May 8 last year.....without these injuries.

There is no need to do that. None of the guys coming back are on the 60-day disabled list. The only person on that currently is Burton and he's not due back anytime soon, if at all.

Bailey with an excellent start at AAA tonight probably ready. I'd guess he'll start in the Chi/Hou road trip beginning next Friday.
Cueto's next rehab stint will be tomorrow (Sunday).

I love that they are going slow with these guys before exposing them to big league hitters. See how they feel after a couple times of regular work.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Rolen due off DL next Friday, but according to Fay's blog he likely needs more time.
