Since the off day, Thursday May 5, is now a game day -- Homer will pitch for the Reds. This means somebody (Fisher?) has to go to the minors. It also means that somebody (Lecure?) has to go to the bullpen to make room for Homer in the rotation.
Since Bailey will be back, his progress no longer qualifies for this thread, devoted to injuries.
Good luck, Homer!

Mark Sheldon has an update on Johnny Cueto.
http://marksheldon.mlblogs.com/2011/...y-on-thursday/*Johnny Cueto [rt. biceps/triceps irritation) appears to be getting one more rehab assignment start at Class A Dayton on Friday. He will have a side bullpen session with Bryan Price so he can see his progress. Cueto threw 99 pitches over 4 2/3 innings on Sunday at Louisville and gave up two runs (one earned) with five hits, two walks and six strikeouts.
“He had good velocity,” Baker said. “His pitch count got high early, and he was kind of spinning off away from the target, which Bryan feels is easily repaired.”
Fred Lewis pulled out of Louisville game today.
Seems like he is ready to join the Reds. Presumably Hermida will go down to AAA, but that's not reported as yet.
Johnny Cueto to start Sunday for the Reds according to Brian Giesenschlag.

Is spinning off away from the target the same as falling off toward first base? Cueto has been doing the latter for some time.
Update on Rolen from John Fay:

Apparently Fred Lewis was pulled from the Louisville game after his first ab. His rehab is over and heading to Cincy. It's still speculation at this point from what I've read, but looks legit.
Who's he replace? Hermida I'd guess?
~from today's minor league thread. Matt Andrews is the Bats announcer btw.

@johnfayman @Brian_97 Sweetie said Lewis wasn't loose enough for his liking, so he took him out as a precaution. Also close on rehab days.
Okay then. Like I said, it wasn't for sure. Not sure which is legit. I'll wait for official confirmation.
Seems to be confirmed now that Cueto will start Sunday. Leake probably moves to the pen according to Fay's blog.
So the rotation will be Volquez, Arroyo, Cueto, Wood, Bailey.
Bullpen Leake, Cordero, Chapman, Bray, Ondrusek, Masset.
Final bullpen spot to Fisher or Smith or Lecure.
Arredondo in the wings still on rehab assignment.
Also, reports that Francisco and Rolen getting closer. Francisco likely to go on rehab assignment.

Lewis up, Hermida down.
So now we have Lewis, Bailey, and Cueto coming back. This is good.
Main injured guys are now Rolen, Francisco, Arredondo.
Rolen will not travel to Chicago, will join team in Houston. Will start swinging the bat on Monday. Unclear when he will be activated.
Francisco has had two days of full baseball activity. Will go on rehab when close to 100 percent.
Cairo out with hamstring.
All according to Fay blog.
So Cueto is back and Fisher down. Lecure stays and is pitching middle relief.
Fay's blog says Janish is improved after injury. Cairo played today so reasonably healthy.
Francisco about to start rehab assignment.
Rolen about to start hitting baseballs (in practice).
Arredondo is still on rehab assignment pitching pretty well.
When Francisco, Rolen and Arredondo are ready, who goes down? I have no idea. Valaika? Who else? Mystery.
