I must have zoned out, because I missed the home run.

Protection means that Votto gets more pitches to see b/c they don't want the next guy to get up with runners on base. Votto walked in that situation. It's actually the opposite of what the goal of "protection" would mean.

Uhhhhh. Votto walked, Phillips made them pay. There's not a single player on the team who will cause teams not to pitch around. He's possibly the best hitter in baseball right now.

For those needing the PBP, Braun with a bomb to center. Now 2 down and Betancourt just singled. Sorry for the lack of specifics.

That 2-2 pitch sure looked good to me.

Lucroy flies out to the warning track in right. 2-2 after 4.

The 1-1 and 2-2 balls were both right on the edge, surprised both were called balls, but Leake still gets the job done.

A home run to Fielder and a home run to Braun. I'll take that from Leake so far.

Bottom of the order coming up for the Reds, Hernandez, Janish and Leake.

Let's get some base runners for Stubbs, Bruce, and the rest.
