Gil closes it out and Bats win 3-2.

Ump was squeezing Gil hard on about 5 calls but he struck Ruggiano out swinging to end it.

Christiani didn't give up his first run of the season, but Boxberger did. It's now 8-5 Tennessee.

Mesoraco finished 2-for-3 in the first game. He starts the second game with a single in his first atbat.

Re: Thursday 4/28/11 Minor League Updates

What a roll Dayton is on. Tonight, a 6-2 win, with big hitting from Yorman, David Vidal and Tucker Barnhart, and strong pitching from Daniel Renken and Chad "Sharky" Rogers, who struck out 14 in eight innings. That's 10 of 11 after a 2-8 start.

Question for people who have seen Dayton. The pitching has been so good lately, it makes me wonder whether part of the success might be the defense. There's a lot of speed with Hamilton, Sierra, Yorman and Lohman. Anybody have a take on that?
