90 wins - The Golf Scorecard

I saw this posted a few years ago (I want to say by OBM), and found it pretty interesting. Basically, you can break the season up into 9 sets of 18 games. "Par" is going 10-8 on an 18 game series, and if you shoot par for the entire season, you win 90 games. I meant to post this after 18 games, but the Reds were coming off of a 4 game losing streak, and I guess I just forgot.

So far, the Reds are 1 over par. Reds need to go 5-3 over the next 8 games to shoot even on the second 18 games, and go 11-7 over the 3rd 18 games to get back to par. I think the Reds are very capable of doing so.

    Record:
    1st 18 games: 9-9

    Score to Par:
    1st 18 games: +1

Kingspoint does this every year in the Sun Deck. Always a great thread.

I believe we've done this in years past, but played 18 holes of 9, not 9 of 18

That would make more sense, you're right.

Dang. For a former golfer (due to a very bad elbow problem--I used to play well), this I understand and gives me hope. But I know golf and things can go south quickly with the game. Take my injury for instance. I went from a solid 70's shooter to a guy who couldn't score in the 90's. In a week. Surely we can avoid that, right?

Depends on who gets hurt. If it's Votto, then no, we can't avoid it.
Win some, lose some, some get rained out.

    Reds
    24-17 (E)
Current hole: 1 stroke. Could really be a huge hole if we take care of the cubs and pirates in the next two.
