Janish lined shot RIGHT at Wallace.
Stupid, stupid game.
Valaika first pitch fly out. Reds down to their last 4 outs.
Freddie Lewis, learning fast, fans. Ninth inning.
Is the offense to blame yet?
Of course I lose my feed right as the Reds are about to win it in the 9th.
There is just about no stat that can be produced (other than W/L) that will describe the Reds as a .500 or worse team, unless specific things are being isolated.
The team ERA is .9 runs worse than the team xFIP.
The Reds are close to the lead in the NL in runs scored.
I am as frustrated as anybody in the world about this team right now, especially living in Illinois and surrounded by Cubs and Cardinals fans. But I am optimistic that a breakout will happen in the near future.
Heck with the monkey!
"Are you trying to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?!"
Rally onion wasn't until 5/12 last year.
Reds, Astros, and White Sox are tied for fewest saves this year so far with just 4 each. That could change in about 10 minutes.
The defense has gone from "most runs in the majors", to "most runs in the NL" to "2nd in the NL in runs" / "close to the lead in runs scored in the NL". Since the first 5 games, things have been trending downward. At breakneck speed.
They need to pick it up. Everywhere.
