    Favorite Sportswriters

We've often noted Joe Posnanski's fine work here on Redszone, but I wanted to also offer up Steve Rushin as one of my favorite sportswriters. I'm really glad he's back at SI.

He can get a little cute when trying bring words together, but I thought this column was hysterical.

Especially if your read the story highlights on the upper right hand side, they read like something out of the Onion.

Definitely agree with you (and I think just about everyone) on Posnanski. I think he's the best in the business right now.

I grew up on him, so perhaps I'm a bit biased, but I think Tom Archdeacon does a hell of a job for the Dayton Daily News. His features are generally fantastic, great storyteller.

I enjoyed John Canzano at The Oregonian. He's got a bit of the shock jock/Skip Bayless in him, but I generally trust that he believes in what he's saying. He's fairly intrepid as well and has taken on the Blazers (the only game in town) on numerous, deserved occasions.

As much as I hate to admit it, I still read Bill Simmons. He often comes off as a pompous ass, but he brings knowledge and some chops to the table. He's revolutionized the way sports are covered. Unfortunately, he knows it.

Regarding blogs, I think Henry Abbott at TrueHoop, Kelly Dwyer at Ball Don't Lie, and Orson Swindle at Every Day Should be Saturday all do excellent jobs.

Posnanski is by far the best.
Simmons is hilarious and I love reading all of his stuff.
I like Gregg Easterbrook because I think he brings and interesting POV to the NFL coverage.
I'm too lazy to look it up, but the guy that does the college basketball power rankings for SI is fantastic.
Grant Wahl does some great stuff with soccer coverage.
