And this one belongs to the Reds! Great game guys. Very solid outing from Wood, nice game from the offense, some sparkling defense (Wow Brandon) and even making the Astros pay for that ridiculous short porch. Now keep it up fellas. I wanna see a "W" tomorrow night. 1st row along the 3rd base line. :O) Looking forward to it.

Hopefully Gomes stays on the bench vs all RH's. He really cannot hit at all right now.

We won't see that tonight. He got DFA after the game last night. I'm pretty sure he had to see that coming.

Yea, he's been awful. He can't say he didn't get a fair chance.

That Valdez showed some promise, but it was curious in his second inning of work, after befuddling the Reds with his drop ball, he got away from it in the second inning of work and got in trouble. Then, he throws it to get out of the inning. Looks like a money pitch to me.

I thought after the Reds bopped him around last week he wouldn't be long in the majors. His career may be over.

Wood is looking like the 2010 version of Wood;Getting ahead of nearly every batter. Very encouraging seeing this from him to go along with Bailey Cueto having initial good outings.

He can't control it. He never knows how far it'll break, when, what angle. It's great when he can locate it...but yesterday was a rarity. But he's young...he does show promise.

He did look good. But I'm taking yesterday's performance with a grain of salt...he was facing the Astros and they've been scuffling BIG TIME on offense the past week or so. Shutdown pretty solidly by the Pirates and us. They hadn't had a solid offensive game since the Leake game.

Given that starting 8 this would probably be mine:
    Renteria 6
    Phillips 4
    Bruce 9
    Stubbs 8
    Hernandez 3
    Valaika 5
    Lewis 7
    Hanigan 2
    Forgot Stubbs was in there.
