    Monday 05/09/11 MiLB Updates

    Mudcats news...

RHP Kyle McCulloch has been reassigned to the Mudcats from Triple-A Louisville. RHP Jeff Jeffords has been granted his release.

McCulloch, who was the Chicago White Sox first round pick in the 2006 draft from the University of Texas, was 0-1 with a 3.08 ERA over eight relief appearances with the Bats in 2011. McCulloch, 26, has been a member of the Birmingham Barons a portion or in full from 2007-2010.

Jeffords held a 7.54 ERA over 10 relief appearances for the Mudcats.

I hope he does well for you down there. He seemed like an explosion waiting to happen in Louisville. Lots of well hit balls that were caught.

BTW: Juan Francisco is supposed to begin his rehab assignment with the Bats tonight in Rochester. He will DH.

Wait, wait, wait. A guy without speed led off, got on base and scored in the first inning? Without a sacrifice bunt? What in the world is going on!?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
