    Wednesday 5/11/11 Minor-League Updates

Carolina's down 5-0 after one. It's the first start for Kyle McCullough, just sent down from Louisville.

    Ouch.

He's just trying to prove that he can fit in on this club. Looks like he's doing a good job.

Actually, Daryl Thompson pitched well last night...another bullpen implosion.

I guess McCullough is taking Webb's place in the rotation.

Mudcats lose 5-2. Webb and Medina provided five scoreless innings out of the bullpen today.

Webb struck out nine in five innings. Didn't see that coming.

Bakersfield is in an afternoon (for them) contest. Yasmani Grandal had a solo HR (8). Blaze down 3-2.

Just turned on the internet broadcast of the Blaze game. They are down 10-2 in the 3rd. Not entirely sure what happened, but I turned it back off.

A HR by Donald Lutz, following a walk to Yorman, has Dayton up 2-0 after two. Vidal has doubled. Daniel Tuttle is pitching (nicely).

Besides the Grandal HR, Bakersfield has HRs by Henry Rodriguez and Campbell.
    Code:
Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
    Partch 2.2 11 10 10 0 2 2 7.18

Campbell and Henry Rodriguez have also homered (in addition to Grandal), but Bakersfield still trails 10-4. LaMarre (2 for 2) remains hot. Curtis Partch is not.

    Edit: Dang, Goya.
