IMO, Alonso and Frazier are both ready for the big leagues. Between 3B and LF, it seems we could give them both an extended audition. In the next few months, they need to make a decision to either trade them or give them a shot at the big league level (although I see Frazier's MLB career landing somewhere between Miguel Cairo and Mark DeRosa.) They are 24 and 25 years old respectively and need to start producing value for the big league club, either as a player or as a trade chip.
    Go BLUE!!!

It's time to call Alonso up at let him play in LF.

I refuse to believe he can be that much worse defensively than Gomes.

    Stubbs
    Phillips
    Votto
    Rolen
    Bruce
    Alonso
    Catcher
    Janish

    and have fun

I'm ok with that. Here's my question though. Say they are OK with Yonder being their long-term left fielder and that leads to Sapp either being a backup or trade bait. Who is the long-term lead off man?

    Here are my ideas.

    1. Keep the line up with Stubbs leading off with BP batting second.

    2. Have BP lead off and eventually have Cozart bat second.

    3. Acquire a speedy shortstop (Jed Lawrie anyone?) and have him bat leadoff/second.

Barons push across a run in the second. 1-0 bad guys, top third coming up.

3-0 Barons. Bases are loaded in the sixth with no outs and Avery is being relieved by righty Nick Christiani

Great win for Dayton. Down 2-0 after six, Dragons get one in the seventh (Vidal walk, Duran single, Lohman single) and two in the eighth (Bowe walk, D'Anna walk, fielder's choice, two-run single by Duran) to take it 3-2 and move back over .500.

    The bullpen was again stellar: Tim Crabbe, 3.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K; and Drew Hayes, 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K. Tanner Robles started.

It's especially nice to see Duran figure so prominently . . . Reports are that Hayes has looked terrific.

White Sox general manger's son, Kenny Williams Jr fouls out to David Cook. Considering it was bases loaded with 0 outs the Mudcats got lucky with only surrendering a single run.

4-0 Barons, top 7 coming up.

Mudcats get a lead off single by Mike Costanzo but the "threat" ends with a 4-6-3 double play. 4-0 Barons, middle 7.

A two-out triple doesn't hurt Christiani and the Mudcats as the Barons' DH Loman flies out to shallow left.
