Was Bruce this impatient at the plate in the minors?

Brandon is really coming to play against The Cards this year. I love it!

At what point do you seriously consider cutting Gomes?

Hips wide open and body moving towards first as he lunges for the outside pitch....and the ugly pop up to the left side is the inevitable result.

Brandon is coming to play against everyone this year. He's having a whale of a season!

Not just against the Cards, though you're absolutely right. But he's, to this point, having his overall best season.

He's got a .371 wOBA (previous best, .354). And at this pace, he would wind up with a WAR of nearly 5.6 (previous best, 5.2).

Though it's unlikely he'll keep this batting average, especially with a little bit an elevated BABIP and considering he's had a low LD%, on the whole he's having a great year with the bat.

So not only is Gomes starting today - he's starting against a tough righthander?

    Sounds like a plan.
