Through eight innings, Mudcats up 7-3. Would love to know what's up in the Mudcat's pen but have lost all radio...

Mudcats win their fourth road game of the year! I'm very proud of the pitching effort in this game across the board.

cinreds21 owes me a beer! I'll take a 24 oz. Yuengling on the upcoming homestand.

Bats lose 4-3 as Bison score 3 earned runs in the 8th off of Daniel Ray Herrera and Jordan Smith. All runs charged to Herrera.

Yonder Alonso, 2-5 to raise his average to .331. He also played left field in the game. Cozart and Dorn also collect two hits for the Bats.
Juan Francisco started at 3B but left after going 1-2 as Michael Griffin replaced him as a pinch runner. Anyone have any details about Juan's apparent injury?

Re: Sunday 5/15/11 Minor League Updates

I forgot to post this last night.

In yesterday's AAA game, Zach Cozart made a play that was as good as any I have seen in 20 years of watching minor league ball. Speedy runner, slowly hit ball just past the pitcher (who falls off the mound slightly to the 1B side). Cozart charges, catches the ball ahead of his body with his right arm outstretched, goes airborne, and flips a strike (with some mustard on it) to Dorn at 1B.

I've seen Rey Ordonez make that play. A couple 3B have made the play as well. (Robin Ventura is one.) But Cozart had to cover at least 20 feet before making the play.

    Incredible.

As to Francisco, I'm sure they were just being careful, as it was messy/ muddy in Louisville and everyone was slipping and sliding. (The game shouldn't have been played, IMO.)
