    Fisher Up, Frazier down

According To Mark Sheldon, Frazier is sent back to Louisville, and Fisher called up to provide bullpen coverage after Arroyo's short outing yesterday.

I don't know about panic mode, but with Arroyo crushing the bullpen for the second day in a row, the Reds had to get another arm here. Frazier unfortunately was the logical choice.

Clearly the bullpen is taxed, and we need another arm up. How on Earth is this a panic move?

I realize the need for it...but I've got to say, I feel bad for Todd here. He gets a 4 pitch call up to the Show. Just some really crappy circumstances right now.

Todd will be back to the big leagues. Sure this isn't ideal for him, but he'll be back in due time.

Just going by years of not doing things like this. The logical move was to do something, anything with Gomes, but that's not going to happen. In the past, we went short handed. I applaud Walt for making the move, but I feel bad for Frazier.

Nice piece from Fangraphs on Todd Frazier.

Projection: He could be an extremely valuable National League player thanks to his versatility and gap power. As mentioned, I see an Eric Hinske comp as the worst case scenario for Frazier. He’s been bounced around the diamond throughout his career and some defensive stability could help him reach his offensive potential of a 3-4 WAR player with average defense at third base or in left field.

wow. I bet the whole family was coming to the park again tonight and he's gone already. I guess I understand though, but bad deal for Frazier.

So according to this opinion, at his worst, Frazier would out OPS Miguel Cairo by 100 points.

Depends on your point of view.

He saw 4 more major league pitches than 99.9% of the people on this planet who pick up a baseball bat. Those 4 pitches represent a lifetime of hard work, struggle, and self-improvement.

I'm sure his parents won't stop smiling for a week.
