That furthers the puzzlement of the DRH release then.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

Asked if Mike Leake was his starter for Friday vs. ATL, Baker said "probably." #reds
Is there something more definitive than this?

They planned on bringing Willis up and had the Danny Ray move in motion before Dontrelle got hurt. Once Willis got hurt, it was too late to take Danny Ray back.

    "probably" isn't definitive enough?

Did Willis actually get hurt as the wheels were in motion or was there a communication issue?

The outright waiver process takes two days. They put Danny Ray on waivers probably Thursday or Friday. Dontrelle got hurt during his start on Saturday. So they planned on brining Dontrelle up after his start on Saturday, but he got hurt. Danny Ray was already on waivers so there is nothing they could do at that point.

Not really. They released Hererra BEFORE they knew about Willis needing to go on the DL.

~edit~ Oops. I'd only read the first 2 posts...not all the answers that I basically just repeated. :O)

I'm sure it's been posted somewhere but what happened to Dontrelle and is there any idea how long he'll be out?I was kinda looking forward to seeing him get a chance to start with the Reds. From what I've heard he's been pretty good so far this year and he's always been someone I liked(unless he was pitching against the Reds). It's a shame for him that just as his chance arrived he gets hurt. It's also a shame that he is needed so soon in Cincinnati and that it's mostly due our starters struggling. When he was signed I figured he'd never get a chance with all the starters the Reds had lined up ahead of him but now it looks like it was a move that has a chance to really pay off if he can get healthy.

He got hit in the leg with a ball if I remember correctly. He was put on the DL with a strained left thigh. He should only miss one or two starts I would think.

They did it to call Willis up, but then Willis went on the DL. How exactly they didn't know Willis was going to go on the DL before that is beyond me.

Again, they started the process of taking Danny Ray off the roster before Dontrelle got hurt during his outing on Saturday. Once they realized Dontrelle was going on the DL, it was too late to try and keep Danny Ray. They couldn't do anything.

Probably would have been a good idea to not pitch Dontrelle in that start then, eh?

Well he missed his previous start with the groin injury so they needed him to get some work in.
