No Joke - LaRussa complains about Coors mounds

On a report on MLB Network from Tracy Rigolsby -

"Tony LaRussa, who doesn't like this ballpark to begin with, complained that the groundskeeper has different size mounds in the bullpen than on the actual field. They checked them out, they weren't different sizes."

He's probably right, many parks do it, it's a common occurring issue. Home field advantage when the visitors throw a pitch at an angle different than the warm up angle.

With all the complaining TLR does about mounds, baseballs, etc., I would think about taking a very close look at what is going on at good ol' Busch Stadium. As the Bard wrote so eloquently, "The lady dost protest too much, methinks."

I can hear the voiceover from the "most interesting man" commercials saying: "He once won an award for complaining and he still complains about it to this day."

That's actually a great line. Have I missed that, or did you just come up with that?

But some of those had a positive vibe. Negative ones are fine, right?

LaRussa doesn't usually complain about Coors... or Busch....or Michelob.

Tony seems to be really building up his persona this year. I think that he is a reviewer of Lonnie Wheeler's new book and knows that his squad is gonna need a mojo to win this year. So they're going to play the martyr complex for all its worth this year.

While LaRussa might be barking up the wrong tree, you are absolutely right. Generally there is a slight difference between the bullpen mound and the actual mound itself. However it happens in most parks so it really shouldn't be an issue.
