    Memorial Day 5/30/11 Minor-League Updates

I missed it, but the DSL Reds opened Saturday with a 6-2 win. A just-turned-17-year-old outfielder named Aristides Aquino (I like) had a bases-loaded triple. They play again today.

Dayton is under way. Sort of. Hitless for four innings. Daniel Tuttle has them in it, 0-0.

    It's a doubleheader.

Billy Hamilton came through with a two-out RBI double in the seventh to cut the South Bend lead to 4-1.

Dragons lose game 1 4-1. Yorman, who was batting seventh for the Dragons today got one of the Dragons' four hits.

    Bakersfield through 2...

    down 2-0 to Visalia

Gregorius led off the game with a single but was caught stealing.

Only other hit was a stand up double off the wall for LaMarre. Seems to be finding his way back after hamstring problems. Kid is going to be good.

    After 3...

Back to back HR's by Visalias 9 and 1 hitters make it 4-0

Fleury, in for Grandal, hits a double.

Bakersfield does nothing with Fleury's double in the bottom of the third, but stops Visalia from scoring in the top of the fourth. 4-0 Visalia headed to the bottom of the fourth.

Louisville is underway and Klinker starts it off with a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the first.

    Serrano gets Visalia 1,2,3

Richburg leads off with a single

Bucholz lays down a bunt single

LaMarre hit a 3 run HR

    Fleury smashes a triple

Didi laces a single up the middle, scoring Fleury

4-4 going to the top of 5

FYI - the announcer said Grandal would likely be out a week
