That said, I do thnk Walt will try to upgrade SS, but not out of necessity.
Paul has the 2nd worst OPS in baseball for guys with a minimum of 150 PAs. He obviously isn't the sole reason why the team is struggling, but a few more knocks wouldn't hurt.

Never start Heisey again. Good grief.

His struggles as a starter are baffling.

Agreed. He has slowly started looking a bit better. He's making solid contact the past few days. Even his outs are solidly hit.

Back in 97, I think Pokey Reese had a sub-.600 OPS as our starting SS.

Wow. Tressel resigned. Guess you can tell I didn't watch the news today. Just now found out via WLW. That's a shame, I really liked him.

It has been suggested that Heisey can't hit much besides fastballs. Relievers in general (supposedly) throw a lot more fastballs than starters. So supposedly Heisey would hit better against relievers. I don't know if this is the case but it would be interesting to look at.

He was 70 something points higher than where Janish is. Even Taveras was 59 pts higher. We are on a whole new level of offensive struggles.

I think I brought that up last year...maybe he is more of a guess guy.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but the Cards lost earlier today 7-3 to the Giants.

No doubting that, but unless a trade is made - I stick with Janish over Edgar everyday. I wish he'd put up at least similar numbers to last year, but as many stated already, he isn't the problem.

Phillips is a artist with that glove. Plain and simple.
