Made the 1st out at 3rd after he reached 2nd on an error. The ball was hit in front of him to the short stop and he didn't hesitate and was out by a mile.

Leake with a quality start. I said he wouldn't have 5 of them in his next 7 starts. He is now 1 for 1.

6 for 8 on the year, right?

OK. Team's not hitting, but these inside strikes called lately are getting ridiculous.

Four pages of posts through six innings against a top division rival. Speaks volumes about Reds baseball 2011.

Hard not to be impressed with this Milwaukee team. The OPS numbers for their first 6 hitters are extremely good. I wouldn't trade Votto or Bruce for anybody they have, but their lineup is significantly better than ours. And they've got much better starting pitching. Even their fifth guy, Narveson, would look good in our rotation. This team did what it had to do in the offseason and they are going to give the Cardinals a real run for the division. As of the moment, they're a whole lot better than us, it pains me to say.

I'd say they've got better hitters and better starting pitching. I think our bullpen is better and our defense is far superior. If we have Bailey and Volquez pitches his best, we are a better team. At the moment, we don't have those things.

It's getting to the point where the crowd is reacting more and more everytime he hits a homer, if that makes sense.

    Strongly disagree.

    Our catchers are better.
    Votto is better than Fielder.
    Phillips is better than Weeks.
Betancourt=Janish/ Renteria on offense, but I'd take Janish on defense.
Rolen/Cairo = MacGhee/Counsell at 3rd. (Edge to Brewers on offense given age of their 3rd basemen)
Gomes/Heisey/Lewis are not anywhere near Braun in left.
Stubbs is better than Morgan in center.
Bruce is better than Hart in right.

That puts Reds up on 5 positions, 2 equal, 1 Brewers. If you give them 3rd base, then 2 Brewers.

Their pitching is better now. But once they get situated I still like our rotation. Bailey/Cueto/Volquez/Leake/Arroyo and Wood will get it turned around. Plus I like our bullpen better. My bet is that come October, we are on top.

I think it speaks volumes about the posters. Especially when many of the posts are about how bad the pitching is and the game is 3-2 in the 8th.

Does it seem like Stubbs is pulling up too much on catchable balls in front of him? The last two nights he's let one drop right in front of his shoes

Thom lets us know Stubbs strikes out a lot.
