I hope he has a long storied career with the Reds and later has a pair of baseball facilities named after him: Rosa Parks.

From watching the video, it appears they do not believe in a home plate? Good to see some film though!

I was just going to post this. According to Vandy's website, he is the son of the Reds former pitcher.

Yes, exactly. Of course, I made two of my kids (born 1983 & 1988 respectively) that our first round pick was born in 1993.

From the Bethune Cookman website, their coach had this to say:

    http://www.b-cuathletics.com/sports/...010411aaa.html

"Gabriel will make an immediate impact at the Division I level. His make-up and ability to play make him one of the top High School players in the entire country. Gabriel has an excellent upside and with hard work and dedication could become one of the highest players drafted in three years out of B-CU. We are extremely excited to have Gabriel as one of our signees"

    Wow.
I don't know if Purke will sign or not, but before teh draft if someone said you would not be picking in the top 5 but still get Rendon and Purke I would think you would be pretty happy.

Why haven't the Reds signed anyone yet? Are they being cheap?

TBH, I wonder if they don't go the way of the Dodgers and Mets a few years from now. If they don't win at least one championship with the way they'll be paying these guys and the lukewarm market they're in, there's no way they turn anything remotely close to a profit.
