I would rather trade hitting for hitting and pitching for pitching.

Wood, EV and Maloney to Seattle for Felix.

Yonder, Frazier and Dorn for Kemp.

    Just a thought.

Why in the world would Seattle make that trade?
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

Can we put this topic to bed? It's dumb. Kemp is unavailable, and this isn't even worth a thought...

Put all those guys together and then add maybe Hanigan and you might have an offer for Felix. I'd do that deal too.

Why in the world would Seattle even consider such a horrible deal?

Because they're on the hook to pay Sir Felix around $20M per season until '14.

Wood and Volquez aren't bad pitchers. Wood is still young and has plenty of upside. Volquez is coming off surgery and just now starting to find his location.

Those are 2 starting pitchers and 1 relief pitcher, all currently in the major leagues.

Who the heck is Alonzo Frazier and why would the Dodgers want him?

When that pitcher is Felix, that's a bargain. Besides, they could get a much better return from a team like the Yankees that's willing to spend more.

He doesn't even have the lowest e.r.a. out of the team's starting pitching. Michael Pineda has a 2.33 e.r.a. and Doug Fister is tied with Felix with a 3.29 e.ra.

You act like Felix is unhittable or the greatest pitcher in all of baseball.

    His last 10 starts:
Date Opponent Score Dec IP H R ER HR BB K W L SV BS HLD IP
    Jun 7 @CHW - loss (1-5), 6.2 IP, 8 hits, 5 earned runs, 2 HR's, 2 walks, 5 K's
    Jun 2 Tampa - win (8-2), 7 IP, 5 hits, 1 earned run, 0 HR's, 2 walks, 11 K's
    May 28 Yankees - win (5-4), 7 IP, 6 hits, 4 earned runs, 2 HR's, 5 walks, 4 K's
    May 22 @ Padres - win (6-1), 8 IP, 6 hits, 1 earned run, 0 HR's, 0 walk, 13 K's
    May 17 Twins - loss (1-2), 8 IP, 3 hits, 2 earned runs, 0 HR's, 3 walks, 9 K's
    May 11 @ Orioles - loss (2-4), 5 IP, 7 hits, 4 earned runs, 0 HR's, 3 BB, 4 K's
    May 6 White Sox - win (3-2), 9 IP, 5 hits, 2 earned runs, 1 HR, 2 BB, 6 K's
    May 1 @ Red Sox - loss (2-3), 7 IP, 6 hits, 2 earned runs, 0 HR, 1 BB, 10 K's
    Apr 26 @ Tigers - win (7-3), 6 IP, 4 hits, 2 earned runs, 0 HR, 2 BB, 4 K's
    Apr 21 A's - win (1-0), 7.2 IP, 4 hits, 0 earned runs, 0 HR, 3 BB, 8 K's

7 quality starts out of the 25 year old stud.

Best pitcher in baseball? No. Top 5? Definitely. It would take a lot more than 2 decent/solid starters and a reliever who has yet to prove anything to trade for a 25 year old ace under contract until 2014. They aren't going to trade him anyways so it's a non issue

Way would anyone want to play for a team that is going to finish lower than the Pirates in a city that does not bother to show up for the games?
