Todd Frazier had a 2 run shot in the 4th. Currently tied at 2, middle 5th.

That was Frazier's club-best 14th round-tripper on the year ... breaking a tie with Danny Dorn who has 13. Dorn leads the team in RBIs with 50 and Mesoraco is second with 46.

Three Louisville players are OPS'ing in the 900's: Hermida (.977), Sappelt (.947) and Mesoraco (.935). ... Alonso is OPS'ing .863.

A few roster moves are going to be made today and tomorrow, I would assume. First, the Bats need to make room for newly-optioned Carlos Fisher. Also, the Mudcats are currently one under the limit of 23 players with Puckett going on the DL. Before that, they also had an extra pitcher. I haven' heard anything as of yet.

Why does Negron continue to get PT on this team? We really don't have anyone better in the system? He's now batting a cool .198 on the season yet is still an everyday starter.

Flyout by Mez, not sure I agreed with the double steal.

Never make the first or third out at third base. But it's OK to make the second out.

Horst in the game to pitch the bottom of the 7th for the Bats (still tied at 2).

    Another quality start for Thompson: 6 IP, 2 ER, 8 H, 3 K, 2 BB.

Not good. Horst has given up 2 runs so far ... 4-2 Mud Hens.

Unfortunately Thompson seems to me to be another Maloney- a great 4A player and emergency starter. If he could be added to a package for any sort of value, I'd pull the trigger before his shoulder explodes again.

I agree. I would love to see him get his trade value up so he could be included in a big deal. He would never be the centerpiece but could be a good "throw-in" that might push a deal over the top.

Horst gives up 2 earned runs on 4 hits in 0.2 innings. Toledo leads 4-2 going to the top of the 8th. Brandon Hynick came in to get the final out of the inning for Louisville.

Yea. He is out of options next year, so the Reds probably have no long-term use for him.

Guys like Thompson and Maloney sometimes just need a year to develop at the big league level like any other prospect, but it's hard to get that without the high expectations.
