No way. Guy has been terrible for a few years and he doesn't have velocity anymore. If he could play SS maybe.
I don't know the extent of his injuries, was just wondering if a minor league contract while working with Cincy's pitching coaches in the minors could get this guy going again. I'm thinking LOW risk with a potential high reward....can he get his velocity back?
BUT, he has 7 million left on his contract this year, maybe if we sign him next year. But as of right now its high risk, ? reward.
We've already got a guy similar to him in Triple-A. His name is Dontrelle Willis.

If he is cheap it might be worth taking him so the Cardinals and Duncan don't get the opportunity to get him back on track.
I wouldn't mind taking a flier on him, but, that's really failed logic. You really shouldn't take a player just because you are afraid of what the competition is thinking. Otherwise you end up with a bunch of players that you really don't have room or playing time for.
